Mku Academic Council Approves Six New Courses | Madurai News
MADURAI: The Academic Council of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) has approved the curriculum of six new undergraduate (UG) courses to be offered by non-autonomous affiliated colleges of the university from the academic year 2022- 23.
The six courses are BA Cooperation in English and Tamil medium, BCom in Tamil medium, BSc Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence), BSc Computer Science (Cloud Computing and Cyber Security) and BSc Computer Science (Animation and Game Designing) under the choice-based credit system (SCCS) semester model. The PG Diploma in Family Therapy program in a non-semestered model had been approved by the relevant board of studies and submitted for approval to the academic board.
The Academic Council at its meeting held on Friday also passed a resolution for the introduction of six UG courses in English, Tamil, Commerce, Business Administration, Mathematics and Psychology in university departments. Union members had previously approved the introduction of these courses from the 2022-23 academic year.
One of the members of the academic council, Dr R Ganesandecided to request to upload the syllabus of certificate and diploma courses offered by MKU on the university’s website and request the union to expedite the central evaluation process for UG courses, which was answered that the process was underway for both.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of MKU, J Kumarin his report, pointed out that the university achieved rank 52 and 88 respectively for the academic and general categories in the FRNI ranking 2022. He also said that through several new initiatives, teaching Tamil for non-Speakers of Tamil and courses to learn French, German and Japanese, certificate courses related to gold and jewelry, management courses in conjunction with the railroads, massive open online courses, and more. ., are offered to students for the benefit of students.
